04/28/08 Fished from the boat trolling several areas of the lake. used just about everything from A to Z in an attempt to catch whatever would bite. Did not see much on the fish finder. Talked with several other boaters out on the lake with me, all were finding fishing very slow from the boats. One boater caught a nice rainbow trout about 3/4 of the way east along the dam in about 10 foot of water using spinner bait casting back towards the dam. The various birds were working very small areas for shad along the east end. The flying bugs were out in full force. Shore fishing was slow at the in-let area.
05/20/2008 fished Jackson Lake was the only boat on the lake this afternoon. trolled around the eitire lake. Caught two wipers both in the 20 in. range.My wife had one right up to the edge of the boat and the line broke...she wants that lure back LOL. Used a lipless shad diver in about 8 ft. deep water off the far east edge of the dike. Lots and lots of carp jumping around. water temp is coming up as daytime temp was at 89 on the lake. Fishing from shore was slow with some trout being caught off the dike. no one was at the inlet so do not know how anyone was doing there.Rangers say that they are sold out for memorial day weekend. DOW doing a fish survey might re-stock wipers unknown when or if that will be done.
